Supreme Steel LP
John Leder is the CEO of Acheson-based Supreme Steel, one of Canada’s largest private steel construction and fabrication firms. Some notable projects in which Supreme has been engaged include: the Edmonton International Airport Expansion; many of the bridge structures for Edmonton’s Anthony Henday Ring Road; a number of major potash mines in Saskatchewan; the Port Mann Bridge in Vancouver, B.C.; the Vancouver Convention Centre; the Winnipeg Convention Center; the Spheres project in Seattle; and, numerous large industrial structures located in the oil sands developments in northern Alberta.
John has also very astutely established a number of Joint Venture Partnerships over the years – a particularly significant one being a Supreme - Walters Group Joint Venture that began with the Victor Diamond Mine in Northern Ontario and constructed the Encana Bow project in Calgary, the largest skyscraper west of Toronto.
Supreme Steel is served by many employees, who represent 7 different Union Locals. John himself has been a member of Ironworkers Local 720 for 50+ years.
Supreme received the citation “50 Best Managed Companies in Canada” in 2010. Also, in 2013, Supreme was named the Parkland County Business of the Year and in 2014 was inducted into the Alberta Business Hall of Fame. In 2025 Supreme received the “Global Player award of Distinction” from Greater Parkland Regional Chamber and in 2022 named Business of the Year by the Acheson Business Association.
